This is another shoot I did a few weeks ago, and I’ve been really looking forward to posting it! Kaisa wanted black & white portraits of herself in a studio, for her husband for their first wedding anniversary. I usually prefer shooting in outdoor locations and using natural light, but this was actually the first time I’ve really enjoyed myself in the studio, and felt confident and creative! Audrey Hepburn was our inspiration for this shoot, and I think we managed to capture it well enough.. So, today is the day and I finally get to blog these! :)
Thanks for the fun shoot, Kaisa, and happy anniversary to you and your husband!
Sean - Okay so.. second and third from the bottom are insanely ridiculous! Some of your best portrait work to date! I love a lot of the poses, and the lighting looks good but I really like the more balanced light of the last few. Terrific looking set!June 30, 2009 - 8:03 am
Juha - Sweet. Great work you got here!
What I especially love in these pictures is the feeling, the atmosphere, attached emotions, and her sweet enigmatic smile.
So fantastic. :()June 30, 2009 - 12:10 pm
Ericha - These are excellent Anna! My favorites are 3rd and 6th ones from the top. The black & white give the photos so much feeling. Love it!July 2, 2009 - 4:09 am
Befofe we get to the post itself, I just wanted to mention the changes! Exciting! Things look a little bit different here, so if you’re reading my blog feed, click here to see. A couple of weeks ago I got the chance to do my first ever boudoir shoot, and now I finally get to blog the results! We decided on an outdoor location for the shoot and headed to the sea fortress of Suomenlinna. A stunning location and one of my favourite places in Helsinki, but it also seems to be the favourite place of quite a few other locals as well as tourists! But no matter, set the alarm for 5:30am and beat the crowds!
Juha - Well, congrats for your first boudoir! Sweet piccies. :)
I am sure that you, the boudoiree, and the boudoirette are happy with these results. As I am happy for making up new words. ;)June 27, 2009 - 9:19 am

Ericha - Love the new blog! My favorite is also the last one. Very beautiful location.June 28, 2009 - 5:49 am
I was really excited about the locations of Karoline & Pasi’s wedding, and strangely enough, this was the first wedding I’ve ever photographed in Helsinki! I feel so fortunate having had the chance to travel around the country, and even abroad, to shoot weddings but it’s nice to stay home for a change! (Their engagement shoot was also the first I’ve done in Helsinki, for photos click here.)
The Old Church was the site of Karoline & Pasi’s ceremony, and true to it’s name it is actually the oldest church in Helsinki built in 1826. The reception was held at an restaurant with an amazing sea view and the thunderstorm we were supposed to get that day started about half an hour after we were done with outdoor portraits. Perfect day! I have just a few photos to show you, again..
Extreme wedding photography!
Thank you, Karoline & Pasi, for including me in your wedding day!
Ahuj - There seems to be kind of like Abbey road photoshooting in there. Nice.
Pictures from the church are just stunning. Combined to the pictures taken from the cliff just proves that your first wedding shooting in Helsinki was a great success. :)June 21, 2009 - 7:32 pm
Rose - Such beautiful photos in the church! The colors are so vibrant and the images so full of emotions!
Personal fav is that one on the cliff when they are holding hands, and you can see the little details, like her shoes, the wedding rings... Amazing! :)June 21, 2009 - 9:32 pm
Mark A Higgins - Beautiful photographs. I can see your style and you have a new fan.June 22, 2009 - 7:39 am
Curtis Copeland - Beautiful photography. You really captured the splendor and romance of Karoline & Pasi's wedding day. Nice work!June 22, 2009 - 5:17 pm
elizabeth - Gorgeous that church is incredible tooJune 25, 2009 - 5:59 pm
The beauty of Sanna & Janne’s wedding location was not far behind that of their engagement shoot location (see the photos here)! Hämeenlinna is a really beautiful, small town in Southern Finland and the site of their ceremony was the 15th century Vanaja Church. I had such an amazing, fun day shooting Sanna & Janne’s wedding and am really happy to finally post these photos! There are quite a few though, just a warning..
Loved the colour of Sanna’s shoes! But first a b&w version..
A couple of pre-ceremony portraits at the Hämeenlinna Castle… turns out you need a permit to take photos there. I wish we’d had more than five minutes there after that amount of money!
Sometimes the bestman has to work as a photographer’s assistant too.. :) (P.S. Thanks for the help!)
I couldn’t decide..
These are my favourite first dance photos ever! So romantic!
And finally, a little video clip I shot during the reception;
Thank you, Sanna & Janne, for choosing me as your photographer! I hope you enjoy the photos! :)
Juha - Bunny ears ftw!
Absolutely fabulous pictures! And the video too. <3June 18, 2009 - 3:14 pm
Sean - Anna, I say this completely lovingly but... this blows a lot of your other work right out of the water! There's something different about your locations, compositions, style and maybe even editing here that I think really knocks this up to a new standard! Love the thing shot against the all wood, the cake shots, and the champagne classes! You captured amazing emotion from them all day too! Sorry for the essay of a comment, but it was unavoidable!June 18, 2009 - 6:21 pm
Jan Oscarsson - Anna, Superb job! My favourite is the one during the ceremony with their hands in front of them. You are evolving, and your images are becoming stronger and stronger all the time. Really god job..!June 18, 2009 - 6:44 pm
elizabeth - Anna.. These are so pretty, you have done a really wonderful job capturing the dayJune 18, 2009 - 10:00 pm
Ericha Farrington - Wow Anna!! First let me say I just love these!! Second, I want those shoes!!!! My favorites from the wedding are: the ones of the couple at the castle and the couple dancing. I think I really need an SLR with the HD video! GREAT JOB!!!June 19, 2009 - 4:05 am
Rose - You know, I watch your blog for so long! Absolutely love your style! :)
The details from the dress are amazing! Love the light and of course the bunny ears!!
The little hearts on the cake are so so sweet!
Keep it up, dear Anna! I love to watch!June 20, 2009 - 3:25 pm
Sherry Lu - Wow, her shoes are fantastic!June 21, 2009 - 4:46 am
